Privacy Policy

Datenschutzerklärung for Run the Household. Plain version: this site sets no cookies, shows no ads, and collects only aggregate, anonymous visitor counts.

1. Controller / Verantwortlicher

Responsible for this site under the GDPR (Art. 4 No. 7):
[FULL LEGAL NAME]
[STREET AND HOUSE NUMBER]
[POSTAL CODE] [CITY], Germany
E-Mail: [CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS]

2. The short version

This site does not use cookies. It does not show ads, does not use social media plugins, does not embed external videos, and loads its fonts from its own server. The only visitor measurement is a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool that stores aggregate counts (e.g. "40 people visited today"), not individual visitor data. No consent banner is required, and none is shown.

3. Server logs (hosting)

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). When you open a page, the server automatically logs technical connection data: IP address, date and time of the request, browser type and version, and the requested URL. These logs are used to operate the site securely, detect and fix errors, and defend against attacks.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, legitimate interest in the secure operation of the site. Log data is deleted automatically after a short retention period.

Vercel Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognizes as providing an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR).

4. Visitor statistics (GoatCounter, self-hosted)

This site uses a self-hosted instance of the open-source analytics tool GoatCounter to measure how many people visit and which pages are read.

GoatCounter runs in cookieless mode and stores only aggregate data, not individual page views. In particular, IP addresses and user-agent strings are not stored; the tool computes daily totals, referrer domains, and browser/country breakdowns without retaining the raw data behind them. It is not possible to identify a specific visitor from this data, even with full database access.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used so it can be improved. Because no data is stored on your device and no cookies are set, no consent is required under the TTDSG.

5. Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is your explicit dark-mode choice in localStorage, which is written only after you click the theme toggle. This is technically necessary to provide the setting you requested (TTDSG § 25 (2) No. 2) and contains no personal data.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

Because this site stores no personal data about individual visitors, these rights will in practice have nothing to act on. You may still contact us at any time: [CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS].

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for Berlin is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.

7. No sale of data

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. There are no advertising networks, no affiliate trackers, and no data brokers involved in this site.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the site's features or the legal situation change. The current version is always available at this URL.
